CASE STUDIES

Red Cross NZ:
​
We were engaged to evaluate the digital learning portal platform of Red Cross NZ for its learning efficacy based upon instructional design and user experience design perspectives. Gathering data from multiple sources and analyzing the collected data using a mixed methods approach to triangulate findings, we were able to gain a comprehensive evidence-based understanding of the training effectiveness of the portal in meeting audience's needs and optimizing learning gains. Findings were presented to client and recommendations made to address gaps in the learning design of the portal platform. Possible improvements of the underpinning instructional design for the next iteration of re-design and development of the portal platform were suggested to client. Measurements from data analytics enabled the management executive team of Red Cross NZ to gain comprehensive insights on the returns of investment to make informed decisions on the follow-up projects to be undertaken.

Etco NZ:
​
We were engaged as experts by Etco, a premier electrical training provider in New Zealand, to assess the learning effectiveness of the training modules and course content offered by Etco to electrical apprentices. Based upon our expertise in curriculum design, we carried out the evaluation of the training modules and then worked with subject matter experts at Etco to re-design the lesson modules to make them more engaging, interactive and learner-centric using innovative instructional strategies such as problem-based learning and team-based learning. The curriculum design of the modular lessons were re-framed to enable hybrid, blended learning for learners to facilitate more flexible, personalised learning.

National Institute of Education International, Singapore:
​
We collaborated with NIEI to content deliver and teach face-to-face and blended learning continuing staff professional development training to upskill the competencies of professionals in all areas of learning and development. Some of the clients to whom these courses were taught to included Singapore Ministry of Education, Singapore Ministry of Defence and Singapore National Arts Council. Some of the topics of the modules we designed and taught included Learning Design, Needs Analysis, Evaluating Organizational Training Effectiveness, Design and Delivery of Blended Learning, Authentic Assessment Modalities, E-learning Instructional Design.
